San Diego bans smoking at the beach!

This is sad. I live on the beach and I frequent late night strolls with a gar. I'm not sure if it will apply to me. I sure hope to God it doesn't!
 
Yea I saw them talking about this on FOX about six months ago. I never heard anything else. Man what a crock. They were saying that the smoke rises during the day and then settles back down on the beach in the evening. What a load of BS. I remember I delievered a small 4 seat plane out to San dieago one time. We got in real late and there was a couple at the hanger so we walked over and asked them for a light. You should have seen the look on there face, it was of total disgust. Made me feel like a criminal.
 
I can somewhat understand banning smoking in enclosed places like restaurants and stuff, but banning smoking in a large open outdoor area? its not just cigarretes that litter the beach, but loads of other things too, like glass bottles and cans. I just don't agree with it.
 
Makes no sense at all. Sad to see the massive decline we're in...
 
Well then, leave your cigar at home and take your crack pipe and join the local legislators.
 
Let's not forget they have banned smoking in parks as well! :angry:

"San Diego City Council President Scott Peters said parks were included in the council vote to reduce fire risks. The measure will take effect by mid-August."

Who is going to police this? Other fine upstanding citizens on the beaches and in the parks.........kinda Stalinistic and Secret Police feel to all of this.

I say the San Diego area BOTLS get together at Balboa Park for a FAT HERF before the smoking ban kicks in........or we can meet at the beach somewhere. Any San Diego County BOTLS up for this? :thumbs:
