Recently, I've seen the following:

Oceans 11 - I liked it (the new one)

Not Another Teen Movie - If you like American Pie, you'll like this one. Crude humor and funny :D

The Others - Bought this on DVD I liked it so much. A great movie. (scary)

Thirteen Ghosts - Excellent graphics and sound. Interesting plot. Good movie. (semi-scary)

Stigmata - Another excellent scary movie. This one was really great.

The Time Machine - Great movie.

I want to see Shallow Hal, looks like it'd be funny.

I know I've seen more, but of course now that I'm typing this I can't remember. Anyways, the above ones were pretty good. I'll post more once I remember what they were. Let's hear what you guys have seen recently.

Being the daddy of a 6 year old daugher... the last 3 movies I've seen were Lilo & Stitch, Snowdogs and Shrek... ??? LOL!

Aloha,

Wade

Rented....

Dogma (finally saw it!) Thought it hysterical and very blunt!

Gosford Park (one of the best films of last year)great cast(esp. bates,Smith,Mirren, and watson),Altman still has it.

In The Movies...

Men In Black II -very funny, not much on plot. T,J, Jones was as always wonderful.

Importance of Being Earnest- A Fair adaptation...no where near as great as the 1950s film with Redgrave and Edith Evans. Still Judi Dench was great and most of the cast were up to the witty material.Alan Parker was not the man to diect though.

I just picked up Shallow Hal. Funny movie. I think they need to stick Jack Black in every movie, just so we can watch him steal it from the big stars LOL

Hmmm... Just saw Lilo and Stich. Pretty good, not up to Disney par, no Lion King, that's for sure, but a good story.

MIB II. Good. Funny. Played out. Should have stuck with just the one.

SW Ep 2. Hmmm, strong in the force this one is.... Hmmmm, watch me flip around like an idiot you will.

Jurrasic Park 3. I liked this a lot more than I liked 2. Little more on the edgy side.

Akira. Holy crap. If you have never seen anime, go rent this. This is what everything should be like.

Ghost in the Machine. Another anime. Incredible.

Ocean's Eleven. Both the old and the new. Watched them back to back. I prefer the original.

Those are what I've been checking out the past few weeks. When i get back to Brooklyn, I should have 4 more flicks to add to the list WHOOT

Dogma ROTFLMAO

Shallow Hal no thumb up or down just a movie. ???

got to see Monty Python's Search for the Holy Grail again with all the post on it. A classic!

btw

Anyone see Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back? I'm iffy on renting this.

I laughed so hard at Dogma. Jay and Silent Bob just crack me up. The opening scene with the nun was classic. Not for the extremely religious and humor impaired, however. Most of Kevin's other movies are very good as well (Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back being the notable exception). Mallrats, Chasing Amy and Clerks were great.

I'm hoping to get Holy Grail for my b'day. Funniest movie ever. :D :D

Dogma:George Carlin as a priest introducing "Buddy Christ" was freaking hilarious.

gotta see that again.

Jay and Silent Bob was awesome. If you like the other Kevin Smith flicks, you'll like this one too

WHOOT

The beginning to J&SB is worth the dvd

Just got back from seeing Bourne Identity (sp?). I liked it except for one small part that tried to make it too James Bondish. You know what I mean....... Leeping from the top of a building while doing some kind of impossible move and not dieing when you hit the ground. Only in the movies. Matt Damon doesn't really fit the role he was put in but pulls it off halfway respectable. I can think of several other actors that the role would have been more suited for. Sorry Matt, you just don't have that macho kick ass and take names type of look no matter how long you pumped up for the role... ???

I saw Minority Report last week. It was ok..... didn't float my boat. I haven't seen a Tom Cruise movie I really liked since Top Gun.

Looking forward to seeing Road to Perdition. That will prob be next week. I having a hard time picturing Tom Hanks as a hit man.....haha!

I just watched The Royal Tennenbaums. It seems to be great to some, weak to others. I could pass.

If you love movies and the tech side of home theater like I do, check out:

It's a great site. Look for me, McPatrickClan on the website. :)

I just watched Momento recently. I thought it was great. It's kinda hard to follow since the movie starts with the ending and goes backward. The movie leaves alot to the imagination. I would give it

Memento is an awesome movie. If you get the DVD (not the original but the one that just came out) it has the movie re-edited so that it plays front to back. Insomnia is currently out from the same director. Haven't seen it yet but heard it's good.

JUst finished Oceans 11 !!!
A great flick. George is an awsome actor. He is also my ex's ...best friends cousin. Yeah i know... whatever :)
Anyhow.. I watched this while smoking a La Tradicion Series P. I think it was the Rhambus (sp?), not sure. Red Band.. 7 by 54 torpedo. I'll tell you now... the movie was better than the cigar....

"Road to Perdition" Setting circa 1931. A movie with a very dark mood. Beautiful cinematography. Tom Hanks should at the very least be nominated for best actor. Best film of the year so far. Paul Newman hasn't lost any of his talent.

"Gold Member" If you don't like this movie, "boo frickin....hoo." Humor is as juvenile as the first one, but that's OK...it has some funny moments..."yeah, baaaaby!" Mini Me stole the movie. Cameos by Tom Cruise, Danny Devito, Brittney Spears, etc. were a pleasant and unsuspected treat.

"Men in Black 2." No surprise -- the original was better. The best part of the film was Lara Flynn Boyles's cleavage, and the 2003 E320 Mercedes-Benz "company car." The talking dog was funny, and so was Tommy Lee Jones as a mailman. (Watch out for the flashy thing!)

Upcoming movies:

New 007 movie, "Die Another Day," with Halle Berry strutting her gorgeous stuff as the bad "guy." John Cleese is great as the new Q. Dame Judi Dench is probably the best actress alive today. Aston DB7 Bond mobile rocks! Madonna is supposed to sing the theme song and make a cameo appearance. Always an action packed movie. Scheduled for release November 22. http://jamesbond.com/

New Star Trek the Next Generation crew flic, "Star Trek: Nemesis." Previews look interesting. Will and Deanna Troy get married. Say hello to the Romulans. A must see for long time "trekkies." Scheduled for release December 13....engage. http://nemesis.startrek.com/main.html

Well Sam, the first two were definately on my list to see!

The problem is finding time to actually do it!

Great post!

Yeah baby!! :sign:

My daughter made me buy the Harry Potter DVD this past weekend and I must say that I enjoyed the movie! I am doomed to start reading all the books now? LOL!

Aloha,

Wade

Same here. When Harry Potter was in theatres my daughter dragged me along. Ended up enjoying it. When the DVD came out we got that. Last week we were at Costco and they had the books in a box set and I got it for my daughter(she had read the books from the library). Now waiting for my daughter to finish the first book(for the umptenth time) so I can read it.

I have got to confess I can't wait till she publishes book number 5, because I will be one of those first in line to pick it up. 1 through 4 provided some great summertime and late night cigar reading material :D

As far as good movies has anyone seen A Big Fat Greek Wedding :D LMAO throughout the entire film. I think everyone can relate to some part of this flick
