I've seen everything that I want to see at the theaters for a while. I'll probably go see "xXx" with Vin Diesel...the previews look good. "Blood Work" with Clint Eastwood looks promising also.
Movies I've seen on video the past week or two:
The Fast and the Furious, B+
(This movie made Vin Diesel famous. Great race scenes. Unexpected ending.)
Vanilla Sky, A-
(Best Tom Cruise movie since Jerry McGuire.) "Life is but a dream!"
Shallow Hal, B-
(Jack Black, Gwyneth Paltrow, Jason Alexander, Tony Robbins)
"Beauty is More Than Skin Deep." Not bad, but I expected this movie to be funnier.
Erin Brockovich, A
(Julia Roberts DESERVED her Oscar for this movie! Her best acting roll yet.)
Who Fingered Freddie, D+
(Tom Green is a very funny/seriously mentally deranged man!) You won't believe some of the weird "stuff" he does! I sure as heck didn't. This movie won the award for "the absolute WORST" movie of 2001...it's so bad, it's good.
Collaterial Damage, A-
(Ah-nold Schwarzenegger.) His best in years! Action packed and surprisingly good. Great plot twist at the end.
K-Pax, B
(Kevin Spacey, Jeff Bridges) Is he or isn't he from outer space? Hmmm.
To Kill a Mockingbird, A+
(The BEST movie of Gregory Peck's career! A classic!)
Monster's Ball, A
(Billy Bob Thornton and Halle Berry are excellent! Great acting. Halle Berry won an Oscar for her role...Billy Bob should have also.)
The Shipping News, B+
(Kevin Spacey, Julienne Moore, Judi Dench, Cate Blanchett, Scott Glenn)
A quirky, but good movie set in New Foundland. Kevin Spacey is great.
Swordfish, A-
(John Travolta, Hugh Jackman, Halle Berry TOPLESS, thank God for slow motion!) I was surprised at how good this movie was. Travolta is one cool dude! Action packed from start to finish, although it didn't do big numbers at the box office.
