The rest of Season 2 (first episode of the season was a movie-length release in December) dropped on Netflix yesterday! :)

Also the first season of WestWorld is now up on Amazon Video without having to sign up for HBO to watch it.

With Season 2 of The Expanse finished, Bosch Season 3 already binge-watched and Legion . . . on hiatus? Hasn't updated in a few weeks---these two plus American Gods are keeping me entertained. Three GREAT shows.

Started it last night. Holy shit!
Not sure this is my cup of tea.

Yeah, first half of episode 1 of season 1 was pretty wild. Fell asleep before it ended.

As I recall . . . didn't that one start with the, aaah, rainbow strap on scene?

Wait till Episode 6. I'm just saying. It's . . . legendary. :D The first season takes about 3 episodes for the story to really emerge and take off. Right now you're meeting the caste of characters. The thing I loved most about Season 1 was how vibrant all the different settings and cultures were. Just an amazing sense of place and how diverse we really are.

You may have a few "triggering" moments depending on just how much diversity you're ready for, though. o_O

By season's end it's really just a master class in storytelling, though. The way each of the characters and their stories resonate off one another's is spellbinding.

Yes, the rainbow scene was a bit over the top.

The show is just far more diverse than I'm used to...

I hear ya. ;)

I will say that if you can hang, it's worth the ride. I'm really open to that sort of thing myself; I've just never had that "Whoa! No homo!" kind of gut-level reaction to these things. I'm more like, "well, it's not MY kind of sex, but damn, it's still pretty hot" kind of mindset.

One thing to keep in mind is that this is from the brilliant, brilliant Wachowskis of "The Matrix Trilogy" fame. Keep in mind that they did the Matrix as "the Wachowski Brothers" and then started this as just "the Wachowskis" because first one, and then the other, came out as transgender. There's a lot of buzz, in fact, that the Matrix is really a transgender metaphor, for which I suppose I must apologize to anyone who has a macho Neo "fight the system" ideation going on. It's really all about the fight to overcome your societal conditioning and remake yourself to be who you are inside. Sorry. o_O

What I love about Sense8 is how it humanizes all these diverse human experiences with such authenticity and makes them empathetic and approachable. There's no judgement in the "gay" scenes and no distinction made between those and the straight ones. It's just all . . . human.

But I'm an English Lit major, after all. We like stories. ;)

I just started watching this...and The Wire... doh!

The Wire is the single greatest TV series ever created in my book. Just fantastically done. It's been years since I've seen it and I still refer to some of the characters. I can't say that about most shows.
