If you have ever wondered about all the neat things our service men and women get to use then here is a good place to look.
 
You have to have a login to view anything. BTW, I hated the M9 service pistol.
 
The M9 was a political choice and it does suck but not as bad as the M16. I can't believe that piece of crap is still in the inventory after almost 40 years. Thankfully the Corps didn't completely convert to it until '76.

They leave out the most effective weapon of all. It's been known to make entire battalions of Marines weak in the knees and cringe in horror. Hell, the biggest and baddest often faint at just the thought. The 30cc hypo, equipped with a 22ga. needle, delivering a payload of gamma globulin. :laugh:

That MF'in GG shot was the bane to all of us. They alway had us do a force march after getting that. Crippled for at least 2-3 days.

Lol I dunno if I would trust something from the military injected into me like that, I guess your all alive so I dunno about sane but alive. I’m a bit of a conspiracy theorist when it comes to the armed forces. Neat toys though.

I saw so many cry after this shot and I just laughed at them. But I worked in a Hospital and had the displeasure of getting this shot 4 times so when I joined the Army, it didnt even phase me. Now getting a cortizone shot in the hip, now thats pain. :laugh:

Greetings! Yes, the M16 is basically a piece of crap. When I joined the U.S. Marine Corps in 1969, we used the M14. I believe that the M14 is essentially a far superior weapon, in comparison to the M16. The M16 was no doubt cheaper to produce than the M14, as far as actual manufacturing costs were concerned. I am not really greatly impressed with some of the weapons being used by the U.S. Armed Forces these days. But, each to his or her own opinions. Yes, unfortunately, many of these weapons are "political choices". The U.S. Armed Forces still remains as the best equipped in the world. Regards, knightlaird
 
The M14 was still around a few years later when I joined. As for the best equiped......only if you leave out the rifle and pistol :laugh: :laugh:
 
When Operation Anaconda happened in 01' in PI, they started to field test a lot of the "toys" for the first time. They found the 9 Mil was a P.O.S. and many personnel going back to the old reliable, Model 1911.

I prefer the 1911 myself; however the A.F. doesn’t allow me to choose my toy. /sigh
 
I can remember my M14 and when they changed over from wood stock to fiberglass. Caused a big ruckuss. This was 1965 for you youngins.
