Hmmm. That Vevor that @Ralph posted looks pretty interesting. Could drop the side covers, but leave the top open for venting. Please let us know how it works if you get one.

I'm trying to figure out if I want to splurge for an outdoor space heater on a black Friday sale or not. And if I want the one with the burner up top with the little round "lid" or the vertical pyramid things. Do these work if it's not too windy? Who has one, and what temperature is it good down to?

There is a little cigar shop about amile down the road from me, maybe I should just go there during the winter, but I'd really love to keep smoking all the cigars I bought since joining here.

I'm also looking to pick up a outdoor propane heater on a BF special. But I would like to hear if they are worth it. I have a SMALL sheltered patio area that has a 9 foot ceiling. I wonder if it would help keep the heat in that area, also maybe going to put an outdoor ceiling fan in that space, it might help blow the warn air down.... ???? Thoughts?

I'm pretty cold-tolerant, would have made a great Canadian, probably. If it's not too windy, I bet a space heater is pretty worthwhile. I bet they're not good with overhead cover, though. Now is the time to look for sales.

This looks interesting. I could use it in my front smoking area because it has a side wall (second photo in the OP). This might be just the ticket for my situation.

We added a propane heater to the porch. Its the tall kind. If its windy its not very good. Its OK the rest of the time. I dont turn it all the way up as Im stingy and still havent figured out how long a tank will last. It was $35 to fill it up the other day. One of those heaters that just attach to the top of a tank may work a little better as its directed right at you and closer. They obviously arent as attractive and look like they should be in duck blind.

Im betting on the black color of the hobo hut will do most of the heating on sunny days. I just need to dial in the ventilation.

What Ralph posted would work pretty good I bet with a fire pit with some kind of reflector.

Edit: we've only had the heater for a month or two so cant speak to performance in any colder weather then what we have had so far which is in the 50s during the day.
