Sick Day Today

As I woke this mid-morning as soon as I opened my eyes I had a pounding headache, not good. Then in a short time I got that "oh-no" feeling coming up from the stomach, yep it happened. Almost like a mild food poisoning feeling but a fever to boot. So anywho...
I call the secretary at work that gives out the PH"s (personal holiday) and tonight was open, good I'm gettin' paid to toilet hug. Then I hear my boss in the background and I start to giggle...

"Hey, transfer me over to Carl"
ring ring "Grocery 1, Carl speaking"
"Hey Carl its Beef, I gotta call out, I told Gail I was sick but its a Jewish Holiday"
I hear his chair squeak as he turns to look at the calendar "I don't see any holiday for today"
"Yeah its called Yom notcomin'towork"

He couldn't help but laugh and now I'm here to bug ya'all tonight.

Our system is automated. I simply call the sub line, puch in my code, punch in a few responses to the questins, and voila, paid sick day. Works great for those asshole administrators that are looking to improve staff attendance.

I try to use 50% of my yearly sick leave per year. Leaving the balance to roll over and accumulate for when I'm really sick (football clinics and stuff).

My boss hated it when ppl call him.. He is all about E-MAIL..

Which is even better for me because I dont have to talk to him ot have to fake the sick VOICE.. :sign:

Last summer I printed up a notice for some of the service advisors I sublet for.

New Policy
Effective Immediately

All Employees not reporting for work MUST call the Service Manager before they reach the shore exits on the Parkway.

I generally have eye problems when I don't want to work.

I just call them and say "I just can't see coming to work today."
