What the hell? I thought I was posting this in the Lobby. Please move if possible. DUH!!

I am so pissed. Ever since I got into this musclecar thing everything I have bought on Ebay for them has been junk. Today I about blew my stack, and ruined a perfectly good smoking experience with an AVO 80th. I bought a transmission and it came broken. It wasn't even the one in the listing. It was obviously broken before it was sent. I refused shipment and the seller says that he will not give my $2000 back. Ebay says that I am eligible to get $175 back if they decide in my favor. I know that this doesn't have anything to do with cigars but it did ruin a great cigar.

This is what I bought:

Yeah, I'd be quite homicidal at that point. Check with the shipper to see what their handling policies are. If you paid through the mail it might fall under federal postal fraud as well. Something went wrong, possibly from the get go, and he's obviously trying to pass off responsibility.

We sell alot on ebay every month they are not good to deal with ALL they care about is there money. Trying to get them help with a problem takes days to weeks.
When we buy we use our CC as they have better custmer service and fraud protection as that looks like what happened to you.

How did you pay? If you used a credit card, you can dispute with them and get a total refund. Also, if you paid him via PP, complain to them and they'll seize his account.

Yeah ebay is full of quite a few dirtbags looking to make a quick buck. I hate it when people purposefully mislist an item or charge shipping fees of 15$ for a cd. But you just got plain scammed. Depending how you paid for it take any recourse you can.

Personally I love craigslist because you can see the item locally and no middlemen.

That is crap.... Phew I would have to fly to the guys house....and give him a piece of my mind

What Bruce says - call your bank and reverse the payment. If it
was cash through PP you have 30 days to dispute. Credit card through
PP, same deal, call your bank.

Bastardo to send you junk, I'm angry for you, I know what it feels like

This is one of the reasons I now avoid eBay as much as possible. I went through two disputes that I was obviously in the right on and only got a small percentage of my money back through them. There is really no way to know what you're getting anymore and the deals are few and far between compared to how it used to be. eBay is a TERRIBLE company to deal with and PP is even worse as far as I'm concerned.

I know many love eBay and PP, but I will not use any of their services if at all possible.

That's awful man. This can't be the end of it though, don't let that bastard get away with it.

Oh, and how about a linky to the feedback you left, ROFL!

I’ve bought TONS of body parts from ebay with no problems, however for most of my mechanical parts I use www.summitracing.com or www.jegs.com they both have a great selection and offer free shipping on anything that can be shipped other then freight. You pay something like a $9 handling fee and that is it. Everything that I have received from them has come super fast and in perfect shape. I know this probably doesn’t help you now, but it might be something to look into in the future.

By the way what are you building up?

The only problems I have on ebay is with stuff that is over $200. But for stuff that is cheaper, it has been great.
