Single Malt Scotch & Whisky Extravaganza

Looks interesting. Seems pricey but probably worth it, depends on the array of scotchs and whiskies available for tasting.
 
I went to one in DC and if you look at it compared to what it would cost in a bar (if you could find some of these drams in a bar) it is pretty reasonable. If you look at it by volume it is a bit pricey. Your call.
 
I didn't look through the list because the price threw me off right away. It isn't that I think it isn't worth, more than I just don't have it. I'd rather space things out at Downing Street if they have them, and they have quite a few. The best bet is raid Ray's house. Houston herfers time for a road trip.
 
So I have been thinking I should probably use those funds to buy some actual bottles or one really nice bottle. If it was on a weekend I would be more persuaded to go ???
 
I think AVB's assessment is spot on. I didn't really drink that much, compared to what I paid, but it was worth it to me because I tried a bunch of malts in one night and got to discuss them with folks who knew a lot more than I did. Attending the tasting really helped me begin to appreciate the different types of single malts that are out there.
 
Yea when you put it that way it sounds more appealing. I'll see if I can get a couple of my buddies to go with me as well.
