There it goes again! It is now 12:25 or so and there are 10 teenage girls including my daughter spending the night. They are with the Church group doing a retreat and arrived at about 10:45 and will leave at 8:25 tomorrow morning. The volume is still loud and any sleep would be welcome...by me.

When they arrived the pantry was ravaged and pizza flew out of the oven. I thought boys of that age would be worse, but these girls did just fine in the consumption department. We get to do this tomorrow again. A nap may be in order tomorrow.

The loud, high pitch outbursts are the worst. Came to a head earlier when one of the girls accidently left church with one of the boy's bags. Well, of course they opened it, sprayed "Axe" all over the first floor foyer and screamed... and screamed. This is our oldest, so if we are a sleep house again I will need to learn the best strategy to get everyone to sleep as soon as possible.

Oh well, just a short steam letting since there is no sleeping now.

mmm...that is rough. I pitty you. I know I just smoked a Bolivar and am about to get some nice sleep. If I were you I would go down there with no shirt on and some sort of shotgun or something and tell everyone to shut up or you are going to take all their make-up bags away for when they wake up in the morning!!

Hope you get some sleep. Have a good night/morning.

Brandon

haha thats rough....

I'm guessing they're in their younger teens? Be greatful that they're at your house eating pizza....give it a few years and you'll be less worried about what music you've gotta put up with and more worried about alcohol and stuff like that.....

and this is coming from an 18 year old guy.....

hehehe (Ya might get lucky and they might not be the party type....but honestly some of the most seemingly "innocent" girls wind out being quite the party animals.....this is coming from a guy who's never really been much of a party person, but from what i've seen, its sometimes surprising....hope i'm not freaking ya out! Dont bother trying to keep them from going to partys and stuff, chances are if they want to do it bad enough, they'll find a way....just make sure they know how to be safe and not drink and drive and that kinda stuff, hehe)

You should be commended. If more adults were involved with the youth of their community there would be fewer scumbags on the streets.

Doc.

you're doing a hell of a job! all those girls will remember you and your family fondly. these are the good old days!

When you have their next sleepover in five or so years.....can I come over?

Dude, I have been there and done that. My wife was a girls scout leader for 5 years. Once a week 15 screaming little girls. Once a month a sleep over. Glad my daughter is over that. A little advice no sugar except a little chocolate say Hershey's kisses (make them sleep better), no caffeine, plenty of food (when they are eating they are not screaming), and a chick flick on your best TV, something they can relate to and something with a HOT actor. So ask your daughter, trust me on this one. And for you head phones I suggest Bose noise canceling head phone. Expensive but well worth the price.
Just my $0.02. Good luck!!!

We haven't hit this yet (my daughter is only two), but this sort of thing is part of why we are happy to have an entertainment room with full sleepover capabilities in the basement and all the bedrooms on the second floor.

Good luck man!

I love it when the little buggers play like it's 3 in the afternoon when in reality it's 3AM... Thankfully I'm nearing the end of all those sleepless nights, although in retrospect I wished I had more of them!!!

Enjoy, brother - it won't be long til she's grown out of all of that...

Hard to believe now, but these are the days you'll fondly remember for the rest of your life. Good show with the young ladies; as has been said, more parents should be so involved with their kids....

My 12-year old son had a friend spend the night last week.

At 2:00 am I hear noises in the kitchen and find them raiding the fridge. "Go to bed," I politely tell them. :D

At 2:30 I hear MORE noises from the kitchen and again tell them (not as nicely), "Go to bed!" :)

At 5:30 I'm jarred awake by the piercing wail of our smoke detector system! I go running into my son's bedroom where it reeks of smoke! WTF?! My son's friend is standing in a corner with a wide-eyed look of panic on his face and my son is waving smoke out of his open window! The little turds thought it would be fun to light paper on fire in the middle of the room! :0

Needless to say, the final "GO TO BED!" was promptly heeded. :angry2:

Yeah - and the bushes outside...

I had the train wreck from hell sleepover party a couple of years ago. My daugher innocently decided to have a sleep over party for four other girlfriend's (I think they were 14 at the time). I'm a freakin mess when this goes on because I take my responsibilities VERY seriously for other people's kids. I look out in the front yard and see a car sitting in the driveway - filled with boys. This sight is not sitting too well with me - clearly these boys are 16/17 yrs. old... After a stern warning to stay away, the boys leave...

I notice there are only four girls in the driveway - so I inquire as to where #5 is. They told me she walked down the street with two other boys... I'm a tad angry at this point. I drive around and eventually find the little bugger standing outside of the local gas station/quickie mart/liquor store with the two 16/17 yr. olds - trying to get patrons to buy her cigarettes and beer... And this is the girl whose parents were VERY concerned about her spending the night at my house because they were afraid she'd end up being exposed to these "bad" girls.... YEAH, RIGHT!!!

PARTY'S OVER!!!

...and this was all before 7 PM!!!

....Or the other sleepover I had for my older daughter. She had one friend stay over after they were going to attend an 8th grade party. I of course drove them to the party (to get a scope for what was at the party) and picked them up (to make sure they didn't get lost). It was light out when I dropped them off, and very dark when I picked them up. Both seemed very happy with their party, chatting away happily in the back seat on the way home.

After we get back to the house I go into the house and immediately into my bedroom (it was like 10pm, and I wanted to go to bed). I didn't pay much attention to the girls - they toddled off to my daughter's room.

In the morning I got up a bit early and made the girls a nice breakfast. I call the two girls into the kitchen. My daughter's friend came into the kitchen - her face looked like she went 10 rounds with Mike Tyson!!! I'm like - WTF!!!! :0

Turns out during the party a girl came in and saw my daughter's friend - apparently they weren't very social to one another - the other girl takes off her shoe and promptly beats my daughter's friend about the face with the shoe. The mother who hosted the party promptly tossed the little hooligan out, but does nothing to let either myself or the girl's mother know. She just figured it had all handled itself...

So I'm kinda glad those days are over... But then again - I did like stalking the boys that liked hiding in the bushes looking to peek into the windows at 1AM... :whistling:

That suxs my friend...i ahve an older sister and i remember when she used to have her friends over and it pretty much sucked alot of ace!

As a friend wisely taught me:
Having a boy you only have to worry about one penis, having a daughter you have to worry about hundreds.
Good luck with that!

I have four sons and a daughter (youngest). For the boys, I just "hid" a box of condoms. For 2 it worked, for the other two, it didn't. My daughter is a sweetheart, but has multiple disabilities, so will not have all those nasty social issues.

I have a pyromaniac for a nephew? Does he still have a door? Tell me they were at least trying to roast marshmallows. Or they were cold? Something
