Smoke Eaters

I just bought two smoke eaters sight unseen from the guy who owns my local B&M. The B&M has only been open about 6 weeks and I am in there about three times a week and have made fast friends with the guy. He bought them used from a restaurant after the NJ smoking ban with the intention of putting them in his shop but apparently the town made him install a fresh air system and the two smoke eaters have been sitting in his garage ever since. $100 for two smoke eaters I figure wtf, I'll put one in my basement that I'm refinishing. Are these things loud? Any opinions?

I don't know how loud they are, but if you don't need both, I might be willing to take one off your hands next time I'm down in Jersey! I am trying to convince my wife I need a smoking room in the basement.

Look on the units and see if they list the sones or db rating. If you have one of those numbers you can figure out how loud they will be.
