i've had some other single malt scotches before, but brother this is truly a man's drink! from the aroma to it's taste, this drink shouts out "STRONG". the overwhelming taste of brine is definitely there, but in a good way! i put eight drops of water to calm it down a bit which brought out the sweetness i was looking for, and which lasted on my tongue for quite a while.........................................a LA GLORIA CUBANA SERIES R #7 is what i sparked up to go with this bad boy and it sure stood up to the challenge. the combination of strong tobacco and an even stronger even stronger malt whisky is a great pairing, imho!...................................i really enjoyed my first experience with a cigar and malt whisky, thanks for bearingwith me!

Living in the fast lane if you bought the Smokehead never having had a single malt. Impressive.

I had a dram of the Smokehead two days ago while watching the boob tube, with one ice cube to accompany it, the taste was as strong as ever. I set it aside for about fifteen minutes and the diferent tastes came out. While remaining smoky the sweeter flavors became more pronounced, by the time i had just a few sips left the fruity elements had taken over. Smokehead has a big bite, but the different tastes are enjoyable,i'm glad i bought it! Thanks AVB!

Sounds like you had a great experience. I really enjoy pairing up these types of malts with cigars.
I just love Islay malts

I'll keep an eye out for this.
