Smoking ban in Washington DC

Well it finally happened in the nation's capital:
smoking ban
"At first, the ban would apply to most indoor workplaces and restaurant dining rooms.
Next January, the ban would be extended to bars, nightclubs, taverns and the bar areas of restaurants."

on the bright side:
"Once enacted, the D.C. ban would include exemptions for outdoor areas, hotel rooms, retail tobacco outlets and cigar bars."

You wanna know the real joke of this. If you ever read the first smoking ban in DC, congress and the house of reps can still smoke in there offices. There’s democracy for ya.

Next thing that will happen will be people renting out Hotel Rooms for smoking parties.

Well at least, like you said, they have made allowances for cigar shops and cigar bars. We've got a smoking ban taking effect in our town under the ruse of a smoke-free workplace. Therefore, anywhere that someone works you cannot smoke. All bars, restaurants, stores, anything! And what's even worse, if you work out of your own home, you can't smoke there!

In Chicago, it looks like the smoking ban will be pretty easy to get around. Though eventually, it is going to be like this here as well.

And it is a cigar lovers dream as far a restaurants go. If someone wanders in off the street with that, "HMMmmmmmm..this looks like a cozy place to have lunch/dinner." look on their faces, one of the servers will greet them at the door and inform them that it is a cigar friendly establishment.

More often than not, they will smile pleasently while doing an about-face while in the mean time beating a hasty retreat. LOL!!!
