Smoking in NYC

I'm heading to NYC this weekend and wondered if anyone could clue me in on the local public smoking laws.  For example, can I have a cigar in Central Park?  I'm not looking for a lounge as that will cost me too many husband points, just wondering what my options are in public spaces.

To answer your question directly, no, you cannot smoke in Central Park!

Looks like if not in a lounge or on the sidewalk, you're pretty much f*cked!

NYC is a smoke free kinda place! There is only one public place that you can smoke and it is Paley Park. Is a privately owned public space. Paley Park was financed by the William S. Paley Foundation and was named by Paley for his father, Samuel Paley. His grandson recently re-established La Paulina cigars also in his honor. The address is 3 East 53rd Street. Hope that helps you out.

Like everyone else said.  Due to idiot bloomberg we can't do anything in public anymore.  Hit one of the lounges, if not someones home.

Thanks for the info tone-ny! I work near there and smoke on the street (since Bryant Park went smoke-free) but I may check out that park IF the weather ever improves!
