Smoking In Your Car

Its not the smoke as much as the cigar "leavins" that smell up my truck. So one day I am coming home from work and I am flippin' my ash out the window like I usually do. Life is good and I am enjoying my smoke as I get my 99 Cherokee Sport up to about 80-85. Those of you with older Jeeps know the wonderful rattles and humms a Jeep gets when it ages and since there are a significant number of repairs made with electrical tape, coat hangers and tie wraps 80 feels like 100. I am about halfway through my smoke and Muddy Waters is on the radio loud wnough to cover the Jeeps "natural music". Now that you have a visual I go to flick my ash out the window... and all hell breaks loose...

A gust of wind takes the cigar from my hands like it was upset I didn't offer it one when I lit up. Hot ash is now in my eyes, the cigar is gone and the soft non-ABS Jeep breaks do nothing but send the vehicle into a terrible three lane dance. I slowly reagin some sight to see the ditch heading right for me at Mach-2 (was the Jeep getting faster as I was braking?). The lit cigar had now flown into the back. Not the back seat, but the BACK of the jeep. Ahh the smell of FIRE as years of fishing bait and dog hair are burnt off. Like a moron (who is still looking through watery eyes) I try to reach it like I am plastic man. I look back to realize I have stretched into the back seat to put out the fire notice the car was NOT STOPPED). I finally come to and pull over onto the shoulder run to the back and open the gate to put out the fire.

I sat there on the side of the road for a hour... laughing at what just happened and smoking a new cigar.

The morale is, smoking and driving is bad... but VERY funny.
