So, this seems like a pretty straight forward title...you know what you're getting when you go see this movie...snakes...on a plane. Has anyone seen this yet? Also, is there potential for spin offs such as Snakes in a car, Snakes on a bus, Snakes in a restaurant, Snakes in CigarPass...etc?

I really want to see this movie...I don't (of course) think it's gonna be an oscar winner...but who can resist Sam L...and snakes bitin the beegeezus out of you...We are gonna go see a matinee of it sometime this weekend...I'll let ya know how it is...

P.S. We also watched Larry the Cable Guy-Health Inspector...hilarious...but predictable ;-)

right...who would want to miss Sam L. and one of his infamous "muthuhfuka" lines

One of the mags (FHM or Maxim) had an interview with the writers. One thing that made me want to see the movie is that when they initially sent it in for a rating, it came back PG-13 so they re-edited it to go for an R rating. That insures Sam J gets to say a little more ;)

This looks like it is one of the stupidest movies in a long time..... only thing that make it any good is Sam saying "muthafuka"......

Sam only took it because the name was Snakes On A Plane. They tried to change the name and he had none of it. Maybe watch it when it comes to DVD only for the laugh factor. Without Jackson this movie would be nothing.

I saw it today and I must say.... it was acutally decent. :D Straightfoward plot, some elements of humor (especially if you go in with the mindset of how ridiculous the whole premise is  )... so no complaints here. Better than the huge letdown Talladega Nights.. and other recent shit movies that I am forgetting, or at least unconsciously repressing.

It is supposed to be one of the stupidest movies of all time. That's why Sam Jackson is in it. It's going to be hilarious. Go, bring plastic snakes, hiss at the screen - it's one of those Rocky Horror type movies where you're supposed to interact...

Hey now...let's not knock Talladega Nights...we here in Alabama loved that movie LOLOL!!!

I am actually gonna go watch World Trade Center this weekened...But I am really waiting on Spiderman 3 and Transformers in a year...yeah...i really am...

I don't care. That movie was a disappointment. The previews looked great... so good that I was thinking that Will Ferrell was making a comeback after Elf, Bewitched, Kicking and Screaming. I was looking foward to it ALL summer long. Then it comes out, and all that was really to it was the previews... some of which were not even included. I kept watching it waiting for it to get really funny... and it never did. What really bothers me was that it seemed that they could have done SO MUCH better with most of those seens. I am just worried about Will Ferrell pulling a Tom Hanks. ???

Alright, Transformers might be cool!!

Agreed! I have been wanting a moive like that for YEARS.. .since I was little. I loved the Transformers! :D I will be hurt if they take too many artistic freedoms with it. The trailer says something about Mars... if they don't come from Cybertron like they did in the comic books/tv show.. I will shit a brick!

Have to reply to this and say that Snakes on a muthafukin' Plane is the movie to go see this summer. Saw it last night and I must say that it is straightforward, kinda silly, a far strech, but has a legitimate plot. Furthermore, there was a wide variety of people on the plane for the snakes to bite: kids, old people, women, and men :) Just great comedic action from start to finish.

I had assumed from the name and the early trailers that this movie was a spoof of horror movies. Is that correct?

Spoof trivia: The producers of Jaws (Zanuck and Brown) wanted Jaws 3 to be a spoof or send-up of the earlier movies. They thought it was the only way for the series to go out. However, the studio held fast to the "Don't shit where you eat" rule and made the horrible Jaws 3D instead.

The funniest part of the idea was the name Zanuck and Brown had planned for the third installment: "Jaws 3 People 0"
