Actually it's ashes flying all around. My car was covered in white ash this morning, and if you look outside, everything is orange. There's a couple big wild fires going on right now, probably heard it on the news. I'm about 20 miles or so from the fires. It's in the 90's today, and supposed to be in the 100's this weekend, not to mention the Santa Ana winds are starting to kick up...

I wonder if we are gonna get any of your "ash" up here in the bay??
 
I live in the Valley, so it's all just flying around us. Yes, it's very hot for LA this time of year. I'd like to experience a cool winter, nothing is worse than Christmas in 90 degree weather. Just doesn't feel right.
 
Well, Rod the way things are going, I might be coming down there soon, my dept is getting ready to send an engine down south for the fires, and if things go the way they have been, I will probably be on it.

i go to an ice cream store in the middle of winter. they look at me like i'm crazy or something. yet, they're open.

i'm in indiana and still no snow.
 
Hopefully they can put these fires out soon, seems like their getting worse. Another one just ignited. Tons of huge smoke clouds outside, and misting ash.
 
Just heard on the news there are 5 major fires going on right now in Southern California. And they're not all in the same area either. Over 200 homes burnt in one neighborhood.

Makes me wonder who's doing this, if you know what I'm getting at... Hopefully I'm wrong.
 
It's bad down here, tons of smoke and ash. I can't even see the mountains from my house, which is only 2 miles away.

Read in the paper this AM that the head of the force fighting the fires believes that the death count will go up once they can get back in and check the burned out houses. :(
Can't believe a fire could move so fast!

PG, you be careful down there! They say they're pulling crews off the line 'cause they're too exhausted to continue to fight it. :( :(
 
is cohibasurfer anywhere around there??? he sent me an email a couple days ago and haven't heard from him since.
 
News just reported the first firefighter death due to the fire. :(
 
Oh man, I think it is time to lower the flags to half my friends. :(

Oh, and I am going to keep PG, Rod and anybody else around this mess in my prayers.
