Alright, so I was in Reno for the weekend. (happy b-day to me) In my excitement to give the casino as much money as I could as quickly as possible, I ran down from my hotel room and immediately began drinking and gambling. Sometime during the night I saw a bar with a humidor and promptly fell over myself getting to it. Booze and tobacco, mmmmmm. Well, they had some Padron 5000's which I bought 2 of, and some Cusano Killer cameroon and Corojos, I bought one of each of these. I haven't smoked any of them yet as the humi there was at 80 percent humidity and wasn't so drunk that I didn't know this was bad. Once I sobered up I realized I had spent $60 for 4 cigars, none of which I knew anything about and began to feel very stupid.

I am very new to cigar smoking, but have recently found that I have an affinity for cameroon wrappers.(freaking LOVED the LLAF I had!) So I was excited to see the Cusano. I have since read one review of these that basically said this thing sucked donkey ??? and can't find much more info about them. Not the cameroon or the corojo. I have read a review of the Padron 2000 but nothing on the 5000.So....

Have any of you smoked a:

Padron 5000
Cusano Killer Cameroon
Cusano Corojo

Can you tell me something about them? Anything would be helpful. I like to have some idea of what to expect from a new cigar, and need to know how badly to beat myself for buying these. Thanks guys.

WOW!! No actually $60 sounds good! I have an aged box of white owl's around here somewhere...... send me $100 and I will take the lose! :p

The 5000 are a good smoke, great with age!
Cusano Killer Cameroon > I have only smoked 1, very week!
Cusano Corojo > Have not tried, but a friend "was" smoking one a few week's ago while we were pouring my concrete patio and about 1/4 of the way in he tossed it in a hole in the ground and covered it with cement! I'm guessin' he didn't like it :p

I'm going to guess that the average cost in a cigar shop would be $18 - $22 {depending on taxes} for the lot!

Casinos are great for $$$ cigars. A cigar store in town briefly had a few boxes of opus Xs on sale at their store. Went to a festival they were at and the price was $8 more. went to the casino in town (same place supplies the sticks) and the cigars were 'on sale' for $50+ !! :0

for one to enjoy the cusano corojo
you must really like corojo cuz' it is
loaded w/the stuff. it is quite stout
but also quite good IMHO. corojo seems
to have a "love or hate it" quality.
the cusano killer cam. is one of my go to
smokes. newbies seem to get hooked on
cameroon because i did the same when i
first started. i had to try every cam. wrapper
i could find :p
don't sweat it fly guy! you may have overpaid
buy cigar store standards, but you bought some
good smokes.

Haha. Well, I will just chalk it up to too much Jack and not enough sense. :)

God knows i spent more than that $60 there and have a big fat "0" to show for it.

Nice to know someone likes them though. Thanks guys, I will let you know how they smoke.

Corojos are not for everyone but I for one am a big fan. Smoke that Cusano slow though. As Lucky said it packs a punch! What can I say about Padron? They are the best most consistant Nic. smoke. My only problem with the 5000 is I've had some with a damn tight draw from time to time. There is nothing worse then a tight draw. But most of them are fine. Also this is one of the few smokes I've had where the natural is nearly as good as the maduro. I've not had a Cusano Killer Cameroon but Cammies are usually very good so I'm disappointed to hear Joe found his week. If you like Cammies you gotta smoke a Monte Afrique. I had my first (an Uhuru) last week courtesy a large explosion in my po via hardcase and I'm still recovering. Fantastic Smoke!

At least you were in the right place to spend money on cigars. I went to Sullivan's steakhouse and almost passed out when they showed me the desert list. Though they did have quality smokes.

However I like the cusano smokes cameroon and corojo both are fairly mild respective to other brands in those styles but are decent daytime smokes.
