Very good point and one I can agree with. If you are going to use a pistol as a home defense weapon I always suggest spending the money and going through a couple of classes. It always amazes me that people will spend lots of money on the gun, the ammo, the fancy holster but won't spend the money on training or don't do any at home training with the weapon. Because when shit hits the fan training kicks in! Ask me how I knowI always caution people when they say their main home defense weapon is a pistol. If your using a pistol make sure your using something like glasser rounds as your primary load. My buddy used a pistol for home defense and needed to discharge his weapon. The slug passed through 3 walls and logged in his wooden fence outside. The shotgun is a much better home defense weapon as it won't penetrate as far and most people don't have the training to hit a target with a pistol when hopped up on adrenaline. Shotgun gives you a wider cone of fire.

I'm going out on a limb and saying that by his location he's a soldier![]()

Right. I got that too. Another case of sarcasm not coming across on the internet. Should have used an emoticon.
Was just being "cheeky" as the Brits say.
I can't imagine the stress you're under when real bullets start flying overhead and it's up to you to either fight or flight.
Thanks for your service.

My bad. Sometimes that sarcasm is hard to convey across the net.
Not your bad at all. I'm actually quite interested in hearing your stories, btw.
Citizen Soldiers (there are many others as well) by Stephen Ambrose is an amazing read about ordinary men put in unbelievable situations and how they rise to the occasion.

So is "Lone Survivor" by Marcus Luttrell. You wanna talk about your corn shoot puckering, take a look at what those bastards went through. I echo what Doc said, train train train. It'll work wonders for fighting off the terminal "sudden onset lead poisoning" disease.
