I know, we all complain about the idiots that always bid over retail on stuff over there. But how about the cheapskates that always autobid so that they are one bid away from retail? For example, a box of Onyx Reserve #4 came up, so I bid a max of $40. Which is $12 below the cost at CI. It's a $3 increment, so some ****er bids $49, so he saved himself a whole three bucks. And no one else will bid, since one more bid puts it at $52, the cost over at CI. Oh yeah, well check this out! How do you like them apples!?
 
Hey I see that all the time,
I think there are alot of people that use cigarbid and nothing else online.
So they are comparing the cbid price to their local cigar shop.
So they think they are getting a great dea.
Thats my theory on it.

Someone a while back had the idea, and started a thread, about adding some type of comment to clue us into other members of CP bidding on stuff. So we might not get into a bidding war with each other. Not a bad idea, as far as hooking each other up, but the con side of it was that Cbid might not be too kind about us manipulating an auction.

Every now and then I'll put "CP" in the comment field, but I usually don't just as often. I've seen other folks with comments to the same effect, "CS" or whatever.

I knew I had lost that auction with my $40 bid days ago, and was about to just go buy them on CI for the $52. But then I figured why not just get em at Cbid. I figure, the more items they sell at or above retail, the more likely they are to add more lots, then the more likely we are to get lucky and score one at a deep discount.

I picked these up Griffin's XXI at about $70 (with shipping). I paid about $100 at my local shop... The box came a bit messed up, but I don't smoke boxes!!! :whistling:
 
Wow Bravo Bravo Gonz this is the best thing Ive read all day! I love catching a great deal on Cbid but sometimes its so aggravating that I have to take a break from it for awhile. But it always pulls me back in...Darn Cbid...evil money taking Cbid...I love you.

just recently cb had fifty boxes of BOLIVAR 94 BELICOSO FINOS starting at $49.99. i figured that i'd would just bid that price, no auto bid, and lo and behold the bid registered at one $1.00. shortly after the bid was cancelled, so i figured i was out. WRONG! one week later i received said box at my door step. c-bid honored the $1.00 bid. they have my business! :cool: :love:
