Some twists on the pass idea

I was reading in another thread and someone used the term "box pass" which is of course the technically correct term for a pass. But it gave me an idea.

What if you organized a box split where the sticks were transported to each participant in a pass fashion?

Meaning, one person organized the box split, lets say it's for 25 cigars and 5 guys are each getting 5 sticks each. The guy takes out his 5 sticks, then sends the box out to the first guy on the list. That guy takes out his five sticks and puts in sticks of equal value, and mails it to the next guy, etc. etc. etc.

This way

a) the guy buying the original box doesn't have to collect any money and
b) the guys splitting with the purchaser don't have to send money but can "pay" for the sticks with mother sticks.

Just thought it would be a neat way to organize a box split.

My other idea is, how about an all-cigarillo/mini cigar pass? Where the originator throws several boxes of little sticks in there, and each participant can take several sticks of each type, then throw in a 3/4 full box of some little cigars of their own choice (they would keep a few from their own box to try for themselves).

This would be a ) light on shipping charges and b) allow folks to try out some cigarillos, which I'm sure a lot of us busier folks would be intererested in when we want a smoke but only have less than 20 minutes.

Whaddaya guys think?

First idea sounds pretty cool as long as the guy who starts the "box pass" knows what he is getting in trade up front. This way you have to be aproved to be in on the split. This would be a little hard to please the guy starting the "box pass" if it were to be a split of high styx. Dont forget, the main idea behind a box split is to not incur the cost of a full box.

As far as the second idea goes, I personaly have no use for cigarillos. I have only tried a few and have not found any that will stand up to the satisfaction of a real cigar.

Have you had a chance to try an ISOM Cohiba Club Styx??

LMK, I think those are a close as a cigarillo will ever get to a cigar.

Oh lum, Honestly I don't know if I would like that. I think it would suck to buy a box of ISOM and split it with folks. Then Have folks stickin in domestics and whatever else they think is worth it. Honestly we all have a few sticks that try as we might to not, we WAY OVERVALUE. Weather that be because we paid to much or they are hard for us to find. Just my .02 on that. But hey, If you wanna buy a box of something nice....I'll take 5 and make sure to put 5 good ones in thier place :D

Yeah for the first idea to work the box purchaser would have to be pretty open minded and trusting. I would be willing to give it a go on one of the JR Ultimates splits I am trying to organize. Just to see how it turns out.
