However, the proper pronunciation is: stol-ich-NA-ya. There are many different versions but the ones you want to look for are Gold or Crystall. The Crystall is much better than Goose it you want the classic vodka flavor even if it is a wheat and not potato vodka.
There are quite a few really good vodkas in Russia (DUH!) that are never exported. Each region or major city has it's own favorites. Some from Samara are considered especially good (in the upper Vloga region) while ones from Ulyanovsk 100 miles northeast of Samara, also on the Volga, are not. Moldavia is known for it's wheat vodka, some of which are world class. Anyway, you get the idea.
