Being new to the game I am curious what your thoughts are on my two most recent wins over at C-Bid.

I picked up a 5 pack of RP Vintage 1992 Toro for $18.95 including shipping and a 5 pack of Gurkha Legend Toro for $24.95 including shipping.

Could I have picked these up cheaper? I'm thinking I got a great deal on both.

Good prices but don't think it will happen all the time. It can be very hit and miss and those two brands (Rocky Patel/Indan Tabac & Gurkha) are some of the most popular brands sold on C-bid.

Great deals you got though.

Make sure to have them mail once per week versus each auction. You'll save over the long haul. My suggestion is this, take MSRP and lop off %15 from the top. This should be your maximum bid. After shipping, your savings should between %5-%10 from MSRP at a minimum.
Also, make sure to check out the reliable retailers before placing a bid.

Thanks guys! Last night I picked up a 5 pack of RP Vintage 1990 Robusto for $16.95 including shipping. I definately need to change my preferences to ship once per week!

I go a little more extreme than that - I'll check a site or two and see what they retail at then place a bid less than 50% with a max at 60 to 65%. I also never bid when they only offer 1 or 2 of an item.
Just checking my bid history shows the most I have paid for any 5 pack so far was $15 for a 5 pack of RP Vintage 1990 Churchill RP Bid Click Here

Haven't lost a bid yet -

I'm in the same boat as the other guys that have posted. I don't buy as much from them as I used to, but when I was buying more frequently, my rule was never more than 90% of the best price I could find elsewhere, if it was something I really wanted, and 70% for stuff that I was "just interested" in. I still won about 70% of the stuff I bid on....

FWIW - B.B.S.

I won a 5 pack of CAO Black Frontier, just to try them out. Got them for 17 + shipping. Retail, they go for about $25~30, at least thats the price that I found around online.

Here is the funny part. C-bid is Cigar International, which I didn't know until very recently. Their warehouse is literally 15 minutes from my house as well as their B&M.

They get a low grade on shipping :whistling: I won my pack late Monday night and they are not here yet. By comparison, I also won an item on Ebay monday night. The Ebay item was shipped USPS from FLORIDA (1100 miles away!). Doesn't make sense....

Although I think I got a pretty good deal.

I recently paid $28 for a fiver of the Gurkha Legend Aniv Perfecto....so I think you done good! I've smoked one of them and it was very tasty!
