Tonight I smoked three cigars. In the car on the way to a Christmas party, I smoked a Punch Punch. Now I usually love these but for some reason, it just didn't do it for me. On the ride home, I grabbed the plastic bag in the glove box in the dark and took out what I thought was another Punch Punch so I took the band off, tossed it on the floor with all the other bands, punched it, lit it up and realized right away it was NOT a Punch Punch but rather a VR Famosos (I couldn't see it but I could tell immediately by the taste of it). Now, I've been lovin' my latest box of 07/04 Famosos but again, for some reason, it just didn't taste too good tonight ???

I get home, watch some television, spend a little time on the computer and figure what the heck, lemme try a Rafael Gonzalez Coronas Extra which I don't like as much as the Punch Punch or the Famosos. Well whadda know, this was the BEST cigar of the night :0 They all burned and smoked fine but for some reason the RG tasted far better than the VR or the Punch.

I don't git it ???

I'll bet that the next RG I fire up will taste lousy......

I think that it was the car that messed up the taste ;)

But it happend to me some time ago. I took out one of my all time fav. and it didnt taste anything im used to. I t can be a combination of mood and situation maybe. You have to be relaxed to fully enjoy a cigar.

That was my 2 cent....
;)

dayaamn!
it's your tenacity that I find most incredible!

after not just one, but two sub-par smokes in a few-hour time period, not only would my faith in redemption for that day dwindle, but my taste buds would be so shot that I don't think I'd know if the third smoke was a good or bad one.

guess I'm a wimpy-a$$ lightweight, though!

whatever the case, sounds like your diligence paid off.

I beg to differ on that one. I'd rather smoke in my car a nice day than just about anywhere. But then again, I love lighting one up while I'm riding co-pilot to the little woman lol.

Thats why you keep a variety in the humi CC
somedays the cigars just taste a little different.
Maybe what you ate for supper or something? You eating Deli food ? :D

Bill

Well Bill, I think that all your Punch and VR Famosos have gone bad. And since I don't want a good friend like you to have to deal with those nasty things, I will be happy to supply my addy so I can dispose of them for you. It's the least a budd can do. :whistling:

Someone musta spiked your cigar with catnip ;)

PuroBrat beat me to it, so that is out.

I think your experience is due to fluctuations in your taste buds or sensory system. It happens to me often that the exact same coffee I grind every morning tastes different than usual. And I am sure that no cat has access to my coffe can.

Forget PuroBrat. Just send them to me.
