So I still can't figure out how to send a PM except in response to one already sent. I know I sound retarded, but someone please let me know where I can find the option. Thanks and be gentle to my stupidity.
 
Click on "new messages" in the top right hand part of the screen and it takes you to your messenger. On the left hand side you will see "menu", directly under that is "compose new message". When you're done writing your pm, click "send now" that's at the bottom of the pm screen.
 
Simply click on that person's name and a drop down menu appears. The third option is "Send Message". Click that and type away.
