I've noticed that cigars with Indonesian/Sumatran wrappersc have, of late, tasted a little off. A little sharp and metallic. I have two questions for the CP community at large

1) Is this a new development, or a characteristic of Sumatran wrappers?
2) Are there any truly excellent cigars being produced with Sumatra?

Cheers,

I have not noticed this but then I've not been smoking Sumatra lately. Historically, I enjoyed the Sumatra wrapper.

Can you provide specific examples?

Wilkey

I haven't had one in quite awhile, in part because Sumatra-grown wrappers generally taste a bit off to me.

I'm not a fan of the Sumatra wrappers. I get the same metallic/brass taste from the RP 92s that have a sumatra wrapper, iirc.
