Tablesaw technology

I wanna get one and screw with my friends when they come over... Just be talking to them in the garage and slip and fall on the saw... You could ruin people for life... :D

This is pretty cool. I've seenit before. The Sawstop has been around for a few years now. Their large cabinet saw is about $3000 and the smaller contractor size is about $1500. Pretty expensive but I guess you can't really put price on a body part.

What I don't understand is if you want this saftey inovation you have to buy a Sawstop table saw. Why they don't license the technology to the other powertool manufaturers like Delt, General and Jet. I'm sure it would be far more profitable for them to do that.

I knew about their saws but to finally see it in with a real finger is amazing!

I seem to remember Humidor Minister talking about something like this. Hell of a saw, but I still wouldn't trust it with my digits, in the sense that I'd put my finger into it. The hotdog example was enough for me to be convinced. Granted, I realize it's an, "Oh crap!" saftey feature in the event of a slip or lack of paying attention, but still...yikes. Hopefully it works perfectly in the event that it is needed.
