Growing too fast.
Had a big ‘ol fish fry today; whiting, shrimp (for the wife who doesn’t like fish), hush puppies, home made slaw. I gotta tell ya I’m about to bust! With belly full I decided to put fire to the Tatuaje Anarchy my bruddah Dave was kind enough to send me. I pull the cigar from the cello and run it under my nose getting a very strong barnyard aroma which I’m liking a lot. The wrapper is a dark brown shade, has one prominent vein running the length, and is quite oily looking with noticeable tooth. I’m really digging the curled around pigtail cap, really funky looking. The cigar has a hefty weight to it, is firm when squeezed, and after clipping off the funky cap I find the draw has a bit more resistance than I like; however enough air flows through with a really strong taste of sweet, earthy tobacco.
With the foot torched and a good burn going, I take a number of good puffs to get the smoke flowing. Again, the draw is a bit on the tight side, so I take intervals of puffing and then letting the cigar rest for a bit to see if it opens up a little more. After a bit of ash has formed, I take a long draw to get a nice hit of spice on the back of the throat that isn’t overpowering at all. The smoke itself is right at medium with the body quite heavy on the tongue leaving a rather oily mouth feel. Flavors are very rich and robust on the palate, dark earth with a taste I would describe as aged black walnut. Strong notes of leather come through in the lasting finish, also a bit of dark, sweet cocoa.
Further in and the burn is sharp with a medium to dark gray ash forming that falls on its own only a quarter inch in. Although the draw is still tight, it seems to be working well with the medium strength of the smoke, spice still hits the back of the throat just right. The body is very full with an oiliness continuing to cover the palate. Flavors continue to be rich and seemingly complex, dark earth and leather most prominent with an incredibly lasting finish after exhaling slowly through mouth and nose.
Oh man, I’m about halfway into the cigar and am still so very full. Jess comes out to play with Mandy and Chloe (did I mention we have a new puppy JRT?). The wind is really blowing; however it’s still nice enough to be out with the temperature gauge reading right at 70F. I continue on with the Anarchy, which is smoking superbly having dark, rich flavors that hit my palate just right.
Heading into the final third I gotta say this cigar is burning very slow, seems like I’ve been out here for a while now. I’ve had to take several puffs to get smoke flowing before being able to get a good draw, which has worked well enough throughout the smoke. Other than the somewhat overly resistant draw, which I believe was due to being a bit over filled. This was an excellent smoke that I thoroughly enjoyed with sharp burn, rich, delicious flavors, and lasting finish making for a nice after dinner cigar. I think with a couple few years of downtime, these will really start to shine. Many thanks to my bruddah Dave for the opportunity to sample such a fine cigar!

You guys must have had a full belly of fish and been sleeping already when we drove by....didn't see any lights on at the house.
