Growing too fast.
It’s a gorgeous day with temps in the mid 70’s and a clear blue sky. There’s a slight breeze blowing that’s a little cool, however still nice. I decided to put fire to a Tat Boris while the baby girl played on the swing. This is a really nice looking cigar with a dull brown Sumatra Ecuador Rosado wrapper that has slight oils that glisten in the sunlight. It has a solid weight to it with not much give when squeezed and a couple of prominent veins running the length. As I push down and twist the cigar to punch the cap, I push a little too hard and the cap pops open and a crack appears around an inch down the head. I wet the leaf and roll it around on my lips to try and get it to lay back down, however it doesn’t work, so get the idea to slide the band up around the crack to hold it. A band aid…get it? Ha! 
I test the draw and find it perfect with a very fresh, straightforward tobacco taste.
With fire to the foot, I take a few puffs and then a long draw getting a good pepper spice on the tongue and throat. It’s a bit strong at first, however mellows after a few good draws. The smoke is a good medium in strength, quite smooth with a nice toasted nut and woodsy flavor coming through. Nothing rich, just good, straight tobacco.
A compact, dull gray ash forms and holds well through the first third with the burn leaning only slightly to one side. Toasted nuts and wood with a hint of vanilla is coming through in the medium strength smoke that is flowing well in the perfect draw. Pepper spice is still there as well.
Heading through the halfway mark and then the last third, I’m really enjoying the straightforward tobacco flavor coming through. The burn is even enough, not requiring any touching up, the ash falling on its own only once. Towards the very end I started to get an excellent finish that was lasting on the palate. I really enjoyed this cigar, and am quite curious to see how they’re smoking in another year. We’ll see next Halloween!
