THE 42-52 PASS
This is the 42-52 pass. The pass gets its name from the first rule; all cigars in the pass must fall between a 42 and a 52 ring gage. I have started the pass with a wide selection from everyday smokes to premiums and a handful of Isoms. (Since I am still a newblett, if someone with a stronger rep wants to discuss my source off line, and post its acceptability in the thread, I would appreciate it. The same may be asked of others with limited reputation here should they choose to put Isoms)
There will be 15 places available in this pass plus myself.
PASS RULES
All cigars will be between a 42 and a 52 ring gage.
This Pass is covered by CPI LINK
Puts and takes will be on a value for value basis. My definition of value is a combination of price, rarity, age and quality. I understand that this can be very subjective, but we are all grown-ups here. Some of us have access to cigars that others simply can’t get, or have cigars that while inexpensive have been resting for quite some time and are no longer easy to compare based on price alone. Isoms are a prime example. Some people are not willing or able to purchase these, and as such, they place a higher value on them when able to trade for them.
Each participant will take a minimum of two and a maximum of four cigars, and put accordingly. Takes and puts will be deemed acceptable if not questioned within 24 hours. If somebody questions your take/put, don’t take it personally, and work it out in the forum.
Each participant will inventory the pass when it arrives and list any discrepancies and or damage.
Shipping will be by USPS Priority Mail with DC. Senders will contact the next on the list by PM and get an ok to ship conformation before sending.
Communication is essential, if for some reason you feel you will be away when the pass heads to you, let us know and we will either hold or redirect the pass to accommodate your schedule.
If your friend, brother or next door neighbor wants to play and can put and take without causing a shipping delay, I’m alright with that, as long as nobody down the line objects.

A TWIST:
Pass recipients #5, #10 and #15 will have the ability to make a preemptive strike on one cigar each. At any time three hours after the pass order has been posted, and subsequently three hours after any new put has been posted, those three players can claim a cigar as one of their takes. This take will be one of their 2-4 takes when the pass gets to them. The catch is, once this option is exercised, it cannot be rescinded in lieu of something else that came along later. Puts for this take need not be announced until your turn arrives.
Pass order will be random and drawn from a hat to make the placement of the 5, 10, 15 spots fair. This may cause the pass to zigzag back and forth across the country, but with 2-3 day priority mail, should not cause too much extra time in transit.
