So how many of you guys/gals are planning on seeing it opening night (Friday)? I've been waiting to see this one ever since I first heard there was going to be a third installment. I cant wait, its gonna be so sweet so my girl and I already have our tickets and are now just waiting for tomorrow night!

I am definitely going to see it this weekend, either Friday or Saturday night. The first two were great, even if they had nothing whatsoever to do with the Ludlum books, so I am pretty excited about this one too.

Edited to add: and I can't wait to see the killer car chase they'll come up with for this one. I love the chases in these films!

the car chase in this one is in ny city. cant wait to see it. i think this is the closest to the novel out of the 3. the 1st wasnt that far off, other than the whole "carlos" character.

Wikipedia has a really good synopsis. The movies are WAY different, which is fine by me.

The only thing the movies have had in common with the books so far is the name Jason Bourne.


Actually this is a good thing because the Ludlum books are very complex and to do them justice would require Lord of the Rings length movies.


I'll read the book again and pass on the film. I wasn't in love with either of the first two.

Yep, just read the widipedia synopsis, and with the exception of Bourne trying to figure out his past, it has nothing to do with the novel.

I liked each successive book less than the one before it. The first one was very good, the second one was still pretty good, and the third one didn't really do much for me. I've no doubt others' opinions will differ, but that's the way opinions work. :laugh:

I have to agree, the first is one of my all time favorites, with Ludlum being my favorite author. But the second and third books fell off.

Well, I went to this movie tonight. I won't give anything away, but damn if it isn't a terrifically fun film! Unfortunately, the "handheld" camera-work from the second movie was retained, and most of the fight scenes are way too shaky. I'll never figure out why filmmakers started using this method a few years ago, much less why they persist in using it.

But it's a good movie anyway - lots of action, very much in the same vein as the first couple. There were definitely a few things that made me chuckle, not because they were joke-funny, but they were discordant-funny. Moments that just don't fit. Regardless, if you enjoyed the first two, you will definitely enjoy this one just as much.

Finally, you can absolutely forget about this one having even the slightest thing in common with the book (much like the second film in that regard).

I agree. Like man on fire, the creative filming is distracting.

The 1st three Bourne Books are great, the 2nd was IMHO the weakest. I you get the chance to read the Sigma Protocall, It is a great book.

I will pick up the 3rd movie in a day or 2 on dvd and see what gives.

The ole shakey hand was a bit overwhelming, and the token limp was funny. That and give the guy a "cape" and all is well. Other than that great action film.
