Today was Dr. Suess' birthday. This was a staple of my childhood and it is nice to see that my 5 yo is starting to read his books. My favorite book was the Lorax.

"'O the Places You'll Go" is still a staple in my reading regimen. Today is stands as inspiration for life more than it ever has. It was a gift on high school graduation from a friend of the family.

Happy birthday Dr. Seuss. My kids and I were talking about him last night at dinner and we tried to think of someone who hasn't read a Dr. Seuss book and we couldn't think of any. Think of the number of readers he reached in his lifetime and beyond, it truly is a staggering number.

I'm planning on getting all of the classics for my baby daughter. She'll also inherit my favorites, which were a little less popular: If I Ran the Circus and On Beyond Zebra.

And will you succeed?
Yes! You will dog bees!

I am stoked to start going through these books again also. I'm a Green Eggs and Ham fan.

My kids just had Dr. Suess Day at their school. I did not know it but aparently Green Eggs and Ham was written on a bet that he could not write a book using only 50 diferent words.
