Hello all I am new to this forum and I am new also to the culture of cigar appreciation, as any dedicated fan in any level would pursue what else a library!!!! the only book I have right now is "the good cigar" by kevin gordon and paul jeffers (I say it is nice but preety basic). So I would like to hear from the aficionados (yes I do envy you people HEHE!) on their knowledge that they can share with me regarding groundbreaking books on the subject of tobacco period! (I would only like to have the best texts) I have heard " the sigar companion, an afficionado's guide" from Anwer Bati is a must (but he makes too much assumptions on the darker the wrapper the stronger the cigar is?. So my focus is on the cigar (EVERYTHING ABOUT CIGARS AND I MEAN EVERYTHING!!) I'd also like books on tobacco itself such as tobacco history books, books on "the beauty of tobacco" tobacco culturing, basically anything that can teach me all aspects of tobacco as "MAN" sees it, even texts on cigarettes and pipe tobacco would be a must in the collection. If U know any one who is an authority on the subject please kindly tell them about my thread, I welcome all information that u can give me.
See U!!!
Thanks Many

I'd venture to say that CigarPass is your own online library, with thousands and thousands of pages of information on cigars. Also, online there is a CigarWiki you can search, and Amazon.com for cigar books. I personally own "The Complete Guide to Cigars" that is fairly educational.

Lastly, punctuation and the shift key are paramount here, read the rules, and don't forget to make an introduction post about yourself in the forum. Enjoy what CP has to offer, take your time here, make some friends and SEARCH SEARCH SEARCH.

Good luck.

"u"? What is "u"? Is typing the other two letters on the same line and 'hand' of your keyboard really THAT difficult?

We love it here when thread content makes us ALL look more intelligent and articulate than we generally really are, and hate looking like a chatroom. Thanks!

Maybe if some of you people don't have anything really constructive and helpful to say at times so then just don't say anything. Seems like some think a little too highly of themselves but your smart mouth comments don't really make you look close to that does it? I came to this forum to talk to good people and learn not to entertain some low slandering remarks, if you don't like my post then please just don't respond. I do not address this to any one who means well.

Listen do yourself a favor and search "cigar book" on this forum and you'll have your answer.

Typically, this is not your average text messaging board. Make complete sentences when you write so we know what you really mean.

Tell us who you are and read all there is on here. No one is slandering you but if you think they are don't take it personally! Where is that meanie Grateful1 when you need him?

Looks like Miguel set me straight. :0

Man Rod, what a trouble maker you've become :whistling:

Before registering at CP, I have seen a few threads go this route and it normally doesn't end well for the new guy, so from one new guy to another, I want to recommend you read the rules on this forum, before this thread gets diverted down that road. I'm not going to link it for you, because it's fairly easy to find and you have scrolled past it a few times already, but if you'd just follow a simple protocol, a lot of mockery can be avoided and you can get involved in what is probably the most informational, organized, and mature cigar community around. Does that sound like something you would like? I'm pretty sure you didn't register to simply find a cigar library, who wants to read about something second hand when you can taste it yourself?

Please, heed the warning, post yourself an introduction and pretend like you are actually meeting everyone on here in person when you post in threads, and maybe one day you will.

*Disclaimer--I'm very new to CP so I'm not trying to step on any FOG's toes here. Or anyone else for that matter. Please tell me if I'm out of line and I will shut up.*

Angel Smoke, you are new here. Being new here, or to any forum with a set of rules and doesn't tolerate ass-hatery, is like being a visitor to someone elses house. You're on your best behavior and abide by the house rules. Here the rules are very simple and spelled out for you in black and white. If you are going to come in here and throw good advice back in the face of these gentlemen, to include the owner of the site, then you are royally showing your ass. I hope you quickly learn that you are a guest here until you have established a relationship with the members of the forum. If I was to guess, then I would say that if you don't learn to type intellectually and not make comments like you own the place, then your time here will be short lived.

That is all.
