Hey all, if you watch the show and have been following, the final 2 are Peter Manfredo Jr. and Sergio Sergio Mora, fighting for 1 million dollars tonight at 8pm live.
Peter, being from my state, is my favored to win. (Go Petah !!!!!)
Who do you think will become The Contender?
According to a poll on the Contender website, Peter is favored 62.41% to Sergio's 37.59%, here is a link to the poll NBC's Contender Website

I think Peter has what it takes to win the show. I don't think either of them have what it takes to compete in pro boxing. Nonetheless, I know what I'm watching tonight. This is a great week of TV. Gotta love sweeps.

FYI Jim....Peter is ranked 3rd in the worldas a Junior Middleweigh with a 21-0 record (before his Contender loss), the only person on the show to be WBO ranked.

What I really love about this program is the heart these guys show, you don't see this in boxing today. I know you only see the clips of action, but I don't know how many 12 and 10 rounds fights I have seen where no one is hurt or exhausted at the end of a fight. These guys put so much into these fights that it gives me hope for a sport that I and IMHO the rest of the world wrote off years ago, and the best part is that this program shows you why they put so much heart into it. Give me a Peter Manfredo vs. Sergio Mora fight anyday.

I think this is a fight that comes down to game plan. Mora clearly can win just based on speed and production. He can win lots of rounds and take it on points. Manfredo will look to score with big punches, knockdowns or a knockout. I think they will both come out swinging trying to knock each other off their respective game plans.

This will be a completely different fight than other one on the show. Be prepared to be bored if you're not a boxing fan. They show about a minute of the total 5 round fight on TV. Most of it is them in their corner, shots of stallone/family/other fighters, etc. This fight will look a lot like one of the Fri Night Fights on ESPN. What will make it interesting is if you have any emotional investment in who wins since you've been watching it from the start.

That aside, I think Manfredo will win. He's just a better technical boxer and the better boxer wins 3 out of 4 times.

And the WBO is trash, none of the alphabets that matter have him in the top 15.

Well, the better man won it all...one comment, how f'in annoying was Sly's commentary? if the do it again, get rid of Sly with the play by play!
