My fiend at work gave me a bottle of Dalmore 12 year for Christmas. I have never tried single malt scotch before and this came up in conversation a few weeks ago. I was quite suprised by his gift.

Tried some tonight when I got home and I must say, single malt is a mighty smooth drink. I have tried some of the cheaper blended stuff that is out there and have always found it rather harsh for my tastes. This stuff was pretty darn good! No harsh taste, just a nice smooth finish. A touch of sweetness, but not much.

Great! First cigars, then port, now single malt. Guess as long as I do all in moderation I will survive. :)

I don't drink a lot of SMS, but I do have a bottle of the same in my cabinet this is mighty good with a cigar, as far as my unrefined Scotch palate is concerned.

Only other SMS I have is Laphroaig.........and I'll never figure out what cigar to pair that funky stuff with! ???

(Before any die-hard Islay psychos threaten me, I do like it...just it's too wierd to pair with any cigars I know of)
