I've been here in Germany since 1985 and I can not remember a worse streak of weather.

Looking back on the weather reports for the last 3 months we have had a total of 16 days were it hasn't rained.

And as we all know yesterday was the WHO's "No Tobacco Day" ( ) so with that as a good enough reason to smoke a cigar as any, I had to have a smoke.

And of course it was pouring down rain.

So I looked through the humidor and found a small thin Justus van Maurik "Sublime" panatella (sorry Doc) that I had forgotten about.

Perfect... under an umbrella I took a walk around the block and enjoyed this small cigar.

Now I guess I shouldn't complain about the weather too much, its saving me money at the very least since instead of my 2 to 3 cigars a week I'm lucky if I manage 1. But enough is enough. Today is the first day of summer and I'm sitting in a thick sweat-shirt looking out my office window at a torrential downpour.

I wish all of you better weather and a smoke filled summer to come.

Sorry to hear about your crappy weather Shawn....
Spent my weekend in the 80 degree sunshine by the lakeside & poolside in SoCal.... but not trying to brag or anything

Hopefully things will look a little sunnier for you soon brotha! Until then, pick em good and enjoy the hell outta them when you can!

Interestingly, Shawn, I'm suffering the exact opposite weather and yet am finding myself in the same predicament. As the temperature climbs towards a daytime high of 120 degrees Fahrenheit, I'm smoking fewer and fewer cigars since I can't bring myself to smoke in the wincingly glaring sun, or even the sweltering shade, cold water or no. The evenings cool down to a balmy 94-98 degrees at about 2030, however by that point I'm not feeling up to a smoke since I must get up the next morning at 0500 to work out before it hits 90 degrees again at 0700. I'm not complaining since the heat is better than being cold, but its seriously putting a dent in my ability to enjoy a nice smoke.

Being in Southern California, I am more interested in the weather ON the water than on land. And you are not alone. There has been 1 good week of weather in the past 3 months. All others are cold, windy, and sloppy. As far as I am concerned, summer has not arrived.

It's hot here in Louisiana...and humid with no relief in sight until October. My grass grows about an inch a day and I fight wasps and yellow jackets while I mow.

I'm thinking about moving to Yellow Knife, Yukon, Canada!!:D

May is supposed to be the nicest month in Poland. We have the same sh*t luck as you all.

I will take your rain if you take the 90% plus humidity and 90+ degrees F. :p And I get to upgrade that probably June 13th where it will be 100+ degree F and humidity off the charts. You should be glad its rain and not a huge heat wave.

yeah, I am tired of the humidity here in NW Arkansas as well Loren. It has been in the 90's, but the humidity sticks to you like a wet shirt. If it would just dry up it would help a ton....you know that dry kinda heat...

Seems like everyone is having the feeling that the grass is greener on the other side. I can say the same for me here. This past weekend we had near-record setting rainfall. Intersections and underpasses were flooded, a ton of collisions where portions of road were closed, police were advising not to travel on roads except in emergency situations. Lots of homeowners here suffered basement flooding, my wife and I included. We were fortunate to A) only get about 1-2 inches in our basement, and B) the basement is unfinished. Unfortunately a number of boxes with clothes, pictures, books got damaged. I could do without the wet basement!

What part of Germany do you live in Shawn?

Grafenwöhr Germany

Hmmm, doesn't ring a bell. I was stationed in Germany for three years. I was stationed in Spangdahlem. Near Bitburg and Trier.

I didn't do NEARLY enough traveling :( I have already gone back once. And it won't be the last time. Love it there! I want a Kebap or some Jager Schnitzel!!!

Graf is the main German and US live fire area in Germany. It was originally Hitler's maneuver training area in the 1930's while he was preparing for the Polish invasion and subsequent Blitz. If you ever conduct anything larger than a company range small arms while staioned in Geramny, you will spend time in Grafenwhoer. Its suprising you never heard of it, then again, you were stationed fairly far north.

Yep its not home unless stuff is going BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMM!!!

Ah ok. Thanks. I loved the area I was in though. Right next to Belgium and Lux. It was one of the things I loved about that area. So many places to go and see. Only place I have ever been that I enjoyed more was Japan.
