O.K. so I am still recovering, but.....
Went to see The Misfits Wednesday night. This is their 30th Anniversary tour, though they broke up and reformed so I guess it wasn't a continuous 30 years. I first started listening to them around '81 and saaw them just before Danzig left in '83, I think. This show had only one true orginal member in Jerry Only. But, Robo, who joined the band somewhat early on was on drums and Dez Cadena from the orginal Black Flag line up was on guitar. They played all the classic Misfits stuff and even played a couple of old Black Flag tunes. The venue was small, only holding a max of around 1000 people and it was full. Sound was not the best, but was loud. I am still at a small hearing loss right now as I type. Favorite songs of the night were Last Caress, Die, Die My Darling and Green Hell. Ended up haging around the club after the show for some reason. Kind of glad I did as I sat talking to a couple of younger guys and talking about the show and the "old days" of hardcore. Ends up one of the guys was having a birthday that night, 22 years young. After several shots of Crown Royal, I come to find out that he is Robo's son and the other kid was Jerry Only's son. So, a couple more shots and then we go back to the RV and hang out for a short bit with the band and crew. A great bunch of guys and not an "attitude" among them, much different from the one time I ran into Glenn Danzig. I took a bunch of pictures and will post them later as I have them on the laptop at home and not here in the office. PLEASE.. the next time I mention I am going to a show, remind me how old I am and that I SHOULD NOT drink shots of whiskey....no matter who it is with. :whistling:
