It seems that Honda motors filmed a car commercial out here in the desert recently. As part of the commercial they literally cut grooves in a stretch of highway that when driven over play music not unlike how a phonograph record plays. The grooves are of varying width, depth and spacing and are cut perpendicular to the highway like a crosswalk. Set your cruise control at 50mph and as you hit that stretch you are treated to a very recognizeable version of the song "Ode to Joy" as it is played by your tires traveling over the grooves.

Being skeptical I went out there today and drove down the highway and sure enough by the end of the song I was laughing my butt off, it was too cool! I ended up driving over it 3 times, then brought my wife out later this afternoon and she was thrilled so we went over it a few times with her in the car. As we were leaving we see our oldest son and his friends pass us headed to the music road!

Anyways, maybe I'm just easily amused but I thought it was awesome.

If you are ever out here in the High Desert of So. California the "Civic Music Road" (as it is officially named) is located on Avenue "K" between 60th Street West and 70th Street West in the city of Lancaster.

Peace

Danny
