I got up this morning and looked out my front window (as I usually do) at the splendor that is the Rocky Mountains. This particular morning I noticed a huge cloud north of Pike's Peak. "Good" I thought to myself, "We sure could use the rain." Then I realized that it was the only cloud in the sky. Odd. Then I realized that it wasn't a cloud - it was smoke from a forest fire up near Decker. The smoke cloud was so large that it was flat on top like a thunderstorm. If I looked long enough I could see it rising, billowing up from the hell that must be somewhere below.

Fire's a Good Thing™. It brings us the sweet nectar of the leaf. But this is scary, guys. I hear there's another south of here near Canon City and one further west near Glenwood Springs. So smoke one for the brave people that are out there trying to bring the beast under control. But make sure you put out your butt. And if anybody knows a good rain dance, PM me.

Amen to that FT. We just sent three crews out your way to help with those fires.
