I remember when I was younger how my brother and I were forbidden from listening to songs that had "backward messages". There are few websites dedicated to this; does anyone have any other useful, if not controversial, information on backmasking?

LMAO.....Being a Preacher's kid of several generations I have heard a lot of crap and it is always great when you have a church member go way, way off base in a debate over music, alcohol and other things.

LMAO.....Being a Preacher's kid of several generations I have heard a lot of crap and it is always great when you have a church member go way, way off base in a debate over music, alcohol and other things.

I was a PK, too! I also heard the same load of crap! Everything was "of the devil" (not Devil Doc, but satan :laugh: )

First song on side one, ELO's "Face The Music" album, right at the beginning....played forward, the reverse vocal can be heard but it's not obvious in the mix. Played backwards, plain as can be: "....The music is reversable, but time is not. Turn back....turn back...TURN BACK...!!!..." I was doing tech work for a local FM station years ago, and they taped it and used to play it as a segway between songs. Hardly satanic, but cool nontheless.....

When I was in the music business mixing music, the joke between engineers would be when someone would ask you "...how's the project going?..." and you'd answer "...Fine. All that's left is to fly in the backwards satanic messages and it's off to the mastering lab...." Usually good for a chuckle or two....
