Are there any big cruisers here?

Norwegian Cruise Lines Epic (click) is going to be host to one of the few ice bars in the world, and certainly the only floating one. In addition, they're hosting the (a) Blue Man Group although undoubtedly not IN the ice bar...although wouldn't that be neat?

It sails next year and looking over the deck plan, it looks like it's going to be quite a nice ship! Unfortunately I've already committed to a cruise with some friends on Carnival next year or I'd book right now. I'm a sucker for that sort of thing. I'm up for sitting on a block of ice and having a few drinks, absolutely!

I'll admit, those are both beautiful but...instead of me going to them, the Epic would practically come to me! ;)

Been to the Ice Bar in Stockholm. Nice experience and great gimmick, but the women were to bundled up and took some of the fun away. If there ever was a place where the women should be encouraged to shed clothing instead of donning fur coats, Stockholm is it.

Based on the good things I've heard about cruises I would love to go, based on the horrific things I've heard about them I doubt if I will ever know.

I must admit that bar would be cool ;)

Yeah, I think I know what you mean. They can be pretty entertaining and if you tend to spend a lot on accomodations and food while you're on vacation (mmmm, steak), it tends to actually be the "cheap" getaway.

The problem is knowing the way they do things. I did a ton of research before my first cruise, read messageboards for days, noted all the "rookie mistakes" and talked to a friend at length who works in the business and I still had some pretty irritated moments. Some of them, before I ever got on the boat!
