This isn't too cool...

Thanks for the information.

My hernia surgery was in February of 2001 and the dang thing still causes me pain on a daily basis. I'm not sure which patch they used on me but I'll certainly check with my doctor and find out.

One of my soldiers just got sent home because of a bad hernia surgery! He received the 1st surgery and was recovering when they noticed that he had another hernia. So he went in for the 2nd surgery and they messed up one of the nerves down there and he is in constant pain. They are talking about killing the nerves so he will not be in so much pain. Because of the difficulties they have sent him home so his family can take care of him and hopefully he recovers with no issues.

That sucks Dean, I hope he has a full recovery!

That certainly sucks. I wish him the best for a speedy and pain free as possible recovery.

I'm not sure what they did to me but I have a constant burn in the left side of my abdomen where the patch was put in. The recovery from the surgery itself was the most painful thing I've ever gone through which is a lot in terms of painful injuries (fell off a 2-story building and broke myself in 1983).

Ouch . . . recall? How does THAT work?

Had an umbilical hernia repaired last year, but I don't think they used mesh---it was a small but scary one. Nothing quite like delinting your belly button and going "WTF is that?" to make your day!

Thanks.

My cousin had one a while back and just went in for another...I wonder if this is why!
