This sucks

Up until about 6 months ago I regularly traded hockey cards on a couple different sites. Although I have not been here long, I know that this community is like the ones I belonged to when I was actively trading. I can tell that you become friends with people you might never meet and some people you just know are an all around class act person. Even though I don't actively trade anymore I check in and try to keep up with what my buddies are doing on the other sites. Today I came home sat down and with horror saw that one of the really good guys I have come to know over the years was tragically killed in a car accident on his way home from work. He and his wife were expecting their first child in a couple of months.


BOTL/SOTL take the time to tell those that you love, that you do.

Very sorry to hear the news. Don't want to take away from your thread here, but would just like to say that I know what you mean. It's not something I usually discuss actually, or even really draw attention to, but it seems I have been surrounded by this lately myself. A very good friend of my little wife and myself just killed himself a week ago. He'd been suffering from some medical issues, but he leaves behind a wife and two children. I just don't understand it. I miss the guy, but it's such a selfish thing to do in my opinion, and I'm angry at what he left his wife and kids to deal with.

Then, this Wednesday, my aunt's father died. He was an awesome, awesome guy and lived an incredible life, thumbing his nose at death ten times over...he was told by docs that he was going to die in five months, roughly twenty years ago. Kind of guy who had 9 heart attacks (literally), and just kept on fishing, smoking cigars, drinking rum, roasting humongous lechon/pig in his backyard pit and pulling practical jokes until he was lying in his hospital bed on a morphine drip. He will definitely be missed, by the wife he leaves behind, his kids, grandchildren, and all his family.
