Tobacco farm tour - Connecticut

The in-laws live in Enfield and although I don't know my way around very well, I think we were still in Enfield.

Well, if you crossed a BIG RIVER  between your in-laws and Enfield, you'd be in Suffield. If you didn't cross a river and headed south you may have been in East Windsor and if you went east, you'd be in Somers. The back roads usually don't have signs indicating when you cross into another town. There are tobacco farms in all of those towns.

Did you get a chance to check out the Connecticut Valley Tobacconist on Route 190 in Enfield?

I didn't get to the Cigar store in Enfield this time, but I've been there before. We only had 1 day in town, so I didn't get to do too much this time. We did stay at a B&B in Suffield, so I saw the "big river" a couple of times! We stayed at Spencer on Main right on Main Street in Suffield. Very nice. I would recommend it.

We think the farm is on Somers Road...I remember driving by Lego and the prison...if that helps.

Merry will try to find out specifically where it is when she talks with her family.

Ok, I found the address of the farm:

217 Shaker Road
Somers, CT

The nearest cross street is Taylor Road.

If anybody happens to visit, tell'em Joe (Sonny's son-in-law) sent ya!

YEP!! I know exactly where that it, it's right on the Somers/Enfield border just over the line into Somers. I did some campaigning a couple of years ago in that development off of Taylor Road heading towards Route 190 in Enfield. A very good friend of mine owns a horse farm in Somers about a mile away from there on Watchaug Road heading up towards Massachusetts.
