So one of the Lieutenants walks into the office today and hands me a box. Said someone in his family sent him some cigars and since he doesn't smoke, he'll pass 'em on to me to share. Sweet... let's see what we got here.

I'm no expert on fakes like a few people here, so what do you think? The caps and foot on the cohibas look suspect. Not sure if the size on the larger ones matches, either. I have no idea on the Partagas or Montes...

They're resting comfortably in my freezer right now.

Probably not but cannot tell for sure from this photo. But from the picture of the foot, probably not.

Maybe it's the angle, but the Partagas look to be very different in size.

I think it's just the angle... the size is close. That top "cohiba" is a different size, though... just for reference.

Looks to me like the viewing angle coupled with a short focal length on the zoom.

Without even looking at the photos, just going by the back-story... odds of them being real are fairly dismal.

Lol... yeah. At first I was expecting dog rockets... the kind people would send a guy that doesn't smoke, you know? Then I opened up the box and saw Cohiba, Partagas, Monte... I though "WOW"... then I thought for a second more and then though "wow... no way these are real".

yay cigars -> probably dog rockets -> yay cubans -> probably fake ... what a rollercoaster.

Just had to share the story and ask the questions to be sure, though.

They may be fakes but ...
A cigar is just a cigar, unless it is shared with a friend.
Smoke them with some special friends - it makes the cigars special.
