Today's Smoke 2025

MSU SEP17 (OR) QdO 54 - my first - bought these upon release fully intending to wait 10 years before smoking (yes, I am THAT guy) but got tired of passing them over every damn time I see them. Whole wheat toast, walnut, baking spice. Retro golden raisins and white pepper. Passive aromas fresh baked wheat bread. Second third sweet cloves & cardamom. Medium full strength which quite surprised me having smoked boxes of the Coronas with their consistent mild body. One of the most ’bready’ cigars I’ve ever smoked. Superlative construction - not surprising at all from an OR box. Just over 2 hours and I think these could use another few years age to their advantage.

Gellis Family Absolutos Corona Gorda. A Nicaraguan puro utilizing all sun grown tobaccos and made in the NACSA factory. Just a hair over two months of humidor time. Smooth, soft feeling smoke, Graham cracker sweetness, spice, cedar, leather, a very light pepper mainly on the retro. A very enjoyable cigar!

ETA: kicked into high gear halfway through, going from a soft medium to a strong, heavier smoke and more medium-full. Still great flavor and enjoyable, just one of the most stark transitions I've experienced.

So I've got a humidor with a bunch of singles that I'm trying to work my way through. Grabbed the Cohiba and couldn't see through the cellophane of the other stick. WTF, it's a Padron. No idea where it came from. I don't tend to buy Padron's so to the brother that gave me this, thank you!
