Today's Smoke 2026

Got this in month club, had it before in samplers. I don't get the price tag of these.

I’m new (and a dumbass) - I’d never seen one before but just did some research so now I’m…still new and still a dumbass, but slightly more familiar with them. I figured it would be hard to get to even burn but I’m guessing I’m wrong (usually a good guess.)
Brother, you're not a dumbass and we're all learning every day. The 'trick' with any cigar is to get a good, even burn, across the face of the cigar, without getting it too hot. Yes, you can scorch the tobacco and in my experience you're in for a harsh stick. Hey, maybe Johnny-O can help here, but with shagfoots, I've always just put the torch to them (no, not a welding torch...🤣 ) and watched the burn 🔥 to make sure it's even across the face of the cigar. In my experience, the shag burns quickly and seems to help get things going evenly. I could be wrong, and am always willing to learn. Do what works for you..!!

Thank you sir - definitely a dumbass but seeking knowledge. Now that you mention it, I’ve definitely screwed up a few cigars by getting off on the wrong foot (pun intended) with my torch. Learning every day. Going to have to seek out one of these shagfoots-I’d literally never seen one before today. This is such a great place learn and a seriously wonderful brotherhood.

Yeah, let's not get the 'today's smoke' thread too far off topic, but a light char, followed by keeping that torch an inch or two away from the foot, while drawing until you get the secondary flame up is the ticket. I look at the foot, gentle blow to see how the flame font is going, touch up as required, and you should be golden. Search the forums and there's lots of solid advice from the guys I learned from. Got to say, great attitude and you'll learn more here than anywhere I've found. Don't ever hesitate to ask questions, and like I said, we all learn every day. Party on....

No pics, but todays trifecta was just great. So spoiled, now that I'm retired I'm usually a three stick a day guy when my dear wife doesn't have 'tasks'. ...yeah, I know...🤣

AM smoke with coffee was an HVC 'Hot Cake' half corona. They almost go too fast, really solid broadleaf flavors. Not as vivid as the Tatuaje 'Black Crack' Black Petite Corona (a solid favorite), but these are very worthy. Like them a lot. Afternoon smoke (pics in thread) was a DT&T Mi Querida Ancho Largo. Wonderful, flavorful, a bit more oomph than many cigars, but just amazing. Thick flavors. Flawless construction. Great stick. Tonight's 'bedtime' stick was a Fabrica5 Puro Desnudo Pirimide N2. Just a bit milder than a Monte #2 but damn, they really hit this one out of the park. Another very well made cigar, respect to Fab5 for their work. So many really classic flavors, a very worthy smoke.

I'm very lucky to get to smoke such great stuff. These 3 just made me smile all day....
