Today's Smoke 2026

Trying the new Undercrown, El Tigre Dominicano, after one month exactly in the humidor.

Wrapper: Ecuador Sumatra
Binder: Connecticut Corojo x H99 hybrid
Filler: Dominican HVA (Havana Vuelta Abajo) & Criollo 98

An inch in and it's pretty good. Better than I was expecting it to be, honestly. The Sumatra influence is present but not as overpowering as I sometimes find, but it does seem to be growing so we'll have to see how it progresses. Cedar, spice, tangy, herbal. Light red pepper and herb retro.

Good news: On Friday the bank made the repayment via e-banking and a few days ago I received the repayment paper. Now I have no obligation to the bank! The whole affair left me with some health issues but it is not something irreversible. I only think of my compatriots who especially after the 2010 crisis, lost factories and businesses, others got divorced, others became unemployed and ended up Homeless on the street. Others barely make it with the loan and credit cards that put psychological pressure on them and create problems in their lives.
I've already started saving money and that means I can more easily buy more cigars and pipe tobacco.

Bad news: The day before yesterday, the 20-year-old dog of our best man's daughter, Sisy (from Anastasia=Resurrection), past away in her sleep. In recent years, she had gained weight and had heart problems but she was always lively, happy, and liked to play with visitors. She would go to each one of them for cuddles and games and always wag her tail. She didn't do any damages, she didn't bite anyone and if she was in her room and heard people in the living room and they wouldn't let her in, she would cry loudly to open the door to come in.
Every ''drrrrn'' sound (even a cell phone) she thought was the doorbell and barked with joy because she thought people would come in. When a visitor got up from the chair to leave, she would go and stand in front of the door and bark quietly to make him stay and play with her. I know that thousands of people die and often unjustly (wars-illnesses-accidents etc) but no matter what, this loss is not easily forgotten. I don't know if there is a Heaven for dogs but if excists then Sisy will be there.

Master Blend 3 ( 33 x 7,5 ) with gobs of age. This was bought at the shop today while they sponsored a OLIVA event...The event was our typical buy 4, get one free or buy 10 and get 3 free. Each time you made the minimum purchase you got a ticket, and yeah, all the usual goodies etc. HOWEVER, please look at the second photo. Oliva gave away one of these FIFA humidors, and I must admit it looks really fine when you see it. Thought it was a neat idea considering the soccer games going on in the USA. And if you are wondering, all those pentagon shapes are individual pieces of wood. This is not a cheap humidor by any means.

Second time smoking this one. First was on a cruise this spring and it kicked my ass. This time I don't know, maybe I'm more used to cigars now but it's really nice. Definitely that full body earthy, leather, coffee/chocolate flavor I remembered from last time but now it tastes more smooth. A little tight on the draw but not bad. Maybe because it's been resting for about a month in my humidor.

Definitely getting these again

The girlfriend and I are hanging out at a local lounge looking for a house to rent. She doesn't smoke, but enjoys the smell. I'm enjoying this Farce maduro from Room 101. Draw is a wee bit tight, but not terribly so.
