I suppose the title kind of explains it all, but if you were stranded on a desert island, and could only bring 5 blends of tobacco with you, what would they be?

My knowledge is rather limited, so I figured it would be a good starting ground for myself and others to figure out some blends to try.

Top 5

1. Padron 1964 Anniversario Maduro blend rolled into Exclusivos :whistling:
2. Westminster
3. Penzance
4. Dunhill 965
5. Butternut Burley

(I guess if they all have to be pipe blends I'd have to add Boswell's Christmas Cookie to the list for a little more variety)

SG Full Virginia Flake
Escudo
Cairo
Penzance
St. James Woods.

Doc.

Wow...tough call. For me though:

1. Presbyterian Blend
2. Dunhill Early Morning Pipe
3. Dunhill Nightcap
4. Squadron Leader
5. Robert McConnell's Scottish Cake

5 might be tied with Nat Sherman's 584, though only slightly edging it out. Navy Flake would be a 6th.

Balkan Sobranie - any from the good old days when it was easily available.
Any Murray's Dunhill blend
SG Full Virginia Flake
Escudo
Penzance

Black Cordial (from my local B&M)
Black Raspberry(Local B&M)
Peterson sunset Breeze
Da Vinci
Dunhill Nightcap

But if i could have one cigar and drop one pipe I would take Padron 1926 #1 and drop the Black Raspberry

1. Escudo
2. Penzance
3. Stoney's Blend (local B&M aromatic)
4. Squadron Leader
5. Boswell's Sweet Tea

Very tough... but right now it would be

1. Frog Morton (reg or on the town)
2. Escudo
3. McC's Grand
4. McB's Rum Cake
5. And right now Boswells Magnum, which I'm trying and liking

From what i've tried so far?

Frog Morton on the Town
MM 965
C & D Kajun Kake
Early Morning Pipe
Rattray's 7 Reserve Medium

But I'm sure this list will change in a few weeks.

Robert McConnell Special London Mature
Dunhill Nightcap
Squadron Leader
Westminister
Dunhill Early Morning

A little top for some of the newer guys like myself looking for good recommendations.

So far, my tops are:

Nightcap
Squadron Leader
Penzance
Old Dublin
Red Repparree

Edit to update.

I'll take a newbie crack at this. In no particular order, I'd bring:

G.L. Pease - Haddo's Delight (I could substitute Davidoff Flake Medallions here)
Davidoff - Royalty
Rattray's - Marlin Flake
McClelland - Yenidje Highlander
Esoterica Tobacciana - Penzance

And if I could sneak some cigars on to the Island, I think I'd go with either Vegas Robaina Don Alejandros or Saint Luis Rey Lonsdales.

I am still very much a noob at the pipe. So far I am really liking....
Boswell's Christmas Cookie
Frog Morton On The town
Dunhill Nightcap

Still working on the Christmas Cheer and Penzance. The times I have smoked it, they have been very moist and I haven't yet dried it and tried em. But so far I like.

My choices would be:

GLP Mephisto
Robert McConnell Special London Mature
Hearth & Home Egg Nog
GLP Robusto
Dunhill Babys Bottom

Carter Hall, Sg FVF, Petersons Irish Flake, Nightcap, Five Brothers.

Byron in Owensboro, KY

Havent been smoking the pipe that much lately but the weather is cooling down a little here. Gets down to about 65 at night. Might have to crack one of my tins of Mephisto.

(running around with fingers in ears)

I CAN'T HEAR YOU! I CAN'T HEAR YOU! I CAN'T HEAR YOU! I CAN'T HEAR YOU!

It was -4 when I went out to get the paper yesterday morning and -2 this AM. 65 is a distant memory at this point...

:)

1. McCranie's Red Ribbon
2. St Bruno's ready rubbed
3. Orlik Golden Sliced
4. Escudo
5. A tie between Stonehaven and Hal O'the Wynd
