I remember smoking the old version of these in Maduro/Natural? in 03 and 04.

I still have a few in fact and I think they are very good cigars, both shades.

Now after the big CAO/Torano buy up I was, and still am, cautious at new premium lines coming from them. As an example, I only have a mild curiosity for the Lx2. To me, Litto did it perfect already.

So I have started smoking the Churrchill. Available only in three sizes, the Robusto, Torpedo and Churchill. The adverage MSRP is $10.
1200 total boxes of Maduro Brazilian Mata Fina only in each size. Thus far the Brazilian Mata Fina wrapper is sweet and tangy which is good. The smoke is a little bigger then I remember, But not harsh.

I have high hopes.

Is anyone else still waiting to try these out?

Much care,

Matthew

I had bought a box of the Robustos a few years ago. I thought that they were very good. I actually smoke the last one a few months ago.
I am curious how they taste this time around.

I have a pair of '04 Maddi's in my humi waiting on a good reason to be smoked. I'll keep an eye out for the new one.

Now after smoking the 08...

I will say that it was a good cigar. Maybe not great, but worth the MSRP.

I would also have to believe that picking up a box and sitting on them may be nice, though the smoke is already pretty mellow. Remember there is a pretty limited quanity.

The construction was great in the solid ash, but the cigar did need to be sparked again a few times. The times I did relight the cigar had been after 5 or more minutes away from it.

It was a good Brazilian Mata Fina wrapper though very fragile and full of teeth. Tangy and sweet as good maduro should be. I thought this was a Maduro as now you may note my edits to correct the wrapper style.

Overall I did not feeel like the complexity was within the 08 as it had been in the previous years. That said, I have also smoked those previous years after some aging and time in my Humidor. This 08 I smoked at the B&M the day they arrived.

In camparison, I may say the Master Blends by Olivia are in the same ball park as these cigars. Given this opinion, and I stress opnion, I belive the MB's to be a much better cigar overall. There MSRP are also close, so it is very much a matter of taste.

As far as Torano or anything else they make (CAO, Gurka ect) the Tribute is the best.

I hope this helps my brothers.

Much care,

What is the Tribute? Is it their holiday cigar? I never heard of them until AVB sent me one and I could not find out anything about them.
